Halloween is a holiday, celebrated on 31st october all over the world. Halloween is a day to dress up in costume, hand out candy and try to frighten each other and ourselves with spooky stories. Halloween was celebrated by the Celts- the ancient people of Ireland about 2000 years ago. It was called Samhain. The Celts believed that during thios time the souls of death traveled into the other world/ To help the dead along their journey and keep the living from being affected by those of dead who were evil, the Celts held a festival called Samhain. During this festival, the Celts wore costumes of animal skins and heads.

Centuries later, the pope of Catholic Church named 1st November, all Hallows day. Hallows is an ancient word for Saints. The night before all Hallows Day was called as Halloween Night.

Justin Bieber fans shaved their heads after a rumor was started on social media that Justin Bieber had cancer. This rumors began from Thursday afternoon. After posting a fake screenshot of tweet posted by “verified Entertainment tonight”, backed by Justin Bieber himself and other celebrity tweets and even stuff like this.

The story goes that verified twitter account tweeted out the following “Bieber was diagnosed with cancer earlier this morning. Bieber fans are shaving their heads to show their support.”

They doctored a few photos of young girls with shaved heads to make it appear that they were holding signs reading “Bald for Bieber”. They then created false images, one from Justin, thanking ET for their support.

Again, it was all a hoax. Bieber’s bodyguard, Kenny, denied the rumors on tweet shortly.

Apple has announced its smaller iPad now officially known as the iPad Mini. At 6 pm tonight, Apple boss Tim Cook has introduced Apple’s latest blockbuster product- iPad Mini.

In the US it will cost $329 for the wi-fi 16GB model or $459 starting prices for 16GB with Wi-Fi plus celluer and will be available on November 2.  iPad Mini has the same screen resolution as the iPad 2.

Last month Amazon released its new Kindle Fire HD which starts at $199 which starts at $199, Google launched Nexus 7 for $199, Barness & Noble released the Nook HD and the smaller iPad will start at $329.

The smaller iPad has a new aluminium and glass design  7.2mm thick and 0.68 pounds. As per 23 percent thinner and 53 percent lighter compared to the 7-inch tablets and up to 67 percent more usable viewing area when browsing the web. The dual-core A5 chip on the iPad mini allows for responsive graphics and multi-touch experience.

Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra away at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai where he was being treated for Dengue. He was 80 and succumbed to multiple organ failure.

A legendary filmmaker, Yash Chopra changed the face of romance in Bollywood to become a brand with numerous hits under his belt in his five-decade long illustrious career. He was one of the pillars in Bollywood, directed some of Indian cinema’s most successful and iconic films, including the action thriller “Deewar” which established Amitabh Bachchan as the “angry young man”

If Shahrukh Khan is called the king, Chopra was definitely the kingmaker. Chopra’s latest film Jab Tak Hain Jaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina kaif is scheduled to release on diwali. He had indicated that this would be his last directorial venture.

Chopra has won several film awards, including six National Fila\m Awards and eleven Filmfare awards including four Filmfare award for Best Director. He is survived by wife and two sons, filmmaker Aditya Chopra and actor-producer Uday Chopra. He born in Lahore to a Punjab Family on September 27, 1932, moved to India after the Partition. Chopra’s original plan was to pursue a career in engineering. However, his passion for filmmake led him ti\o trvel to mMumbai where he initially worked as an assistance director to I S Johar, and then for his director producer brother B R Chopra.

In 1973, Chopra founded his own production house, Yash Raj Films. His association with Sharukh khan began with the 1983 romantic psychological thriller film Darr, which turned out to be a superhit with Sharukh Khan playing the role of an obsessed lover.

Chopra produced Indian cinema’s longest-running blockbuster, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”(1995), which marked the debut of his son Aditya as director.

“ Jab Tak Hai Jaan” with Chopra at the helm for the last time, opens in cinemas in November, eight years after his last project “veer-Zaara”, a passionate tale of love across borders.

Google has introduced a new Samsung Chromebook.

It is now available for pre-order for $249. This is ARM based which includes an 11.6 in, 1366*768 display. It weights in at 1.1kg and is 0.8in thin. Google promised over 6.5 hours of battery life and 100GB of Google drive cloud storage for two years.

It is also includes a VGA camera and ports for USB 2.0 and 3.0. There is built in dual band wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 compatibility. This Cromebook runs an ARM cortex A15 processor known as the Samsung Exynos 5 dual Processor. Its predecessor, the Samsung Chromebook 550, runs an intel core processor.

The senior vice president for Chrome at Google said, “In order to have one, two or more computers around the house, they need to be easy to use and much more affordable. So together with Samsung, we designed a new laptop-the new Samsung chromebook for $249-the computer for everyone”.

The Samsung Chromebook will be in 30 PC world and currys stores in the UK, 5000 Best buy stores in the US, and on Google play.

Alvin Tan Jye yee, 24, a national University of Singapore(NUS) law student, his 23 year old girlfriend Vivian lee, also a Malaysian, had uploaded photos and videos of themselves in suggestive posts as well as having sex.

The blog has been deactivated after both Tan and Lee came under heavy fire over their photos and videos, which have been deemed obscene.

Tam Had received an Asean scholarship in 2004 and attended Xinmin Secondary school and Raffles junior college before entering NUS on an Asean Undergraduate scholarship.

Tan and lee had met on Facebook and started their sex blog after initially uploading their photos.

One day, we are fooling around and my girlfriend had the idea of taking nude photos. After taking more and more photos, we started to to want some sort of recognition for our works so we uploaded them on Facebook but we blurred out the critical parts.” Tan said to Yahoo! Singapore.

He said that they stated the erotic blog in September when their photos in Facebook were being banned and taken down by site administrators.

Lee said she was not worried the matter would upset her family and or about what her parents would think. She also said she and Tan did not care what others thought about them and would continue with their “ activity” as they both enjoyed it.

Lee added, “I see nothing wrong in posting the nude pictures and videos of our swexual relationship on the internet. It was intended for the world to see how much we love each other. I cannot understand why people have to make so much fuss about this. It is our private affaire. She also quoted that the duo had no choice but to shut down the blog due to pressure from their parents.

Tan said to the STAR “My parents aren’t really saying much about the morality of it. They are more concerned I will be in trouble with the law or my university.”

Megan Fox and Brian Green married in june 2010 in Hawaii after four year engagement. Noah is there first child.

Microsoft Launches its Surface Tablet

Microsoft , the world’s largest software maker, announced Tuesday its new Surface tablet, which goes on sale Oct 26, will be priced starting at $499. Microsoft have added their Surface tablet to its online store where it’s now available to pre-order. For now only windows RT model is available with the windows 8 pro version expected to be added soon.

While companies from HP to Acer to Lenovo have announced information about their forthcoming windows 8 tablets and computers, Microsoft itself stayed relatively quite about its own hardware-its Surtface Tablet. This morning the company revealed that its first tablet computer will be available for pre-order starting at 9 a.m Pacific time today.

The surface, which has a 1036 inch screen and a pop out kickstand, will start at $499 for the 32gb version. The 32GB tablet with the Touch cover will cost $599. A 64 Gb version with the Touch cover will start at $699. The touch cover separately will cost $119.99 and comes in a rainbow colors, including red, blue, magenta and white.

The price is competitive with Apple’s iPad, which starts at $499 with 16GB of storage space. The Surface is more expensive than many had predicted.

A earthquake occurred at 7:12 p.m., in New England on Tuesday evening. No damage or injuries were immediately reported. The epicenter wasw four miles from Hollis center, which about 20 miles west of the state’s largest city, Portland. Initially, the USGS put the magnitude at 4.6 but later downgraded it to 4.0.

The earthquake that hit southern Maine Tuesaday night and was felt in New England states as far away as Connecticut caused no apartment damage or injuries, but it rattled residents throughout the region.

Earthquakes are rare in New England but they’re not unheard of. In 2006 there was a series of earthquakes around Maine’s Acadia Park. The strongest earthquake recorded in Maine occurred in 1904 in the Eastport area, near the states’s eastern boreder with Canada according the Weston Obeservatory at Boston College. It had an estimated magnitude of 5.7 to 5.9.

New England and Long Island are far from the nearest tectonic plate boundaries, which are far out in the Atlantic ocean and the Caribbean Sea, the USGS reports. Historically, there have been studies of small or deeply buried faults in the region, often leaving the source of the quakes unidentifiable.

A gang disguised in police uniforms opened fire on worships at a mosque in northern Nigeria on Sunday, killing at least 21 people , officials and residents said.

The military and locals said the pre dawn raid in the village of Dogon Dawa in kaduna state was carried out by armed robbers engaged in running feud with a local vigilante group. Having been repelled by the community militia last week, the gang returned on Sunday, storming the mosque as people redied for early morning prayers, killing some victims inside the building and some outside.

Religiously divided kaduna has been rocked by waves of sectarian violence in recent months.

Suicide bombings at three churches in june that were claimed by Islamist group Boko Haram sparked reprisal violence by Christian mobs who killed dozens of their muslim neighbours, burning some of their victims of their bodies. Muslims also formed mobs and killed several Christians.

But military told AFP that Sunday’s shooting was a clear case of armed robbery, and described it was a “ revenge”.

Village resident Dauda Maikudi told AFP that thieves regularly target the area as Dogon Dawa lies not far from a main road used by traders carrying goods and cash between the north and south of Africa’s most popular country.

“It was pre-dawn raid” he said.  The attackers….some of them dressed in police uniform came into the village. They killed eight worships in the mosque and killed 13 other residents in the village.
